DeKalb County's operations committee on April 21 heard a presentation on a change order to contract 1192609 to extend Tyler Technologies' IAS World software-as-a-service for tax billing, property appraisal and GIS through Dec. 31, 2029 and to increase funds by an amount not to exceed $4,094,807.88. Staff said the product is used by the tax commissioner's office, the property appraisal office and the county's GIS team.
Commissioners asked whether the proposed change order had been returned from audit. Staff answered it had not. After brief discussion the committee voted to defer the item for two weeks to allow follow-up, including an audit check. The motion to defer was made by Commissioner Patrick and seconded by the chair; vocal "ayes" were recorded and the chair announced the item was deferred.
The deferral leaves the contract unchanged while staff obtains additional review and any requested documentation. No formal contract amendment or spending authorization was adopted at the meeting. The presenter said the change order would extend cloud hosting and SaaS support for the county's assessment and tax systems if approved at a future meeting.
The committee did not set a firm new hearing date during the session; staff will circulate next steps to committee members.
