The Town of Babylon Zoning Board of Appeals approved application 2664, submitted by Nicholas (Nick) DeStefano, for a 21‑foot semi in‑ground pool on a narrow West Babylon lot. Nick DeStefano (Speaker 8) told the board the proposed pool must be sited near a paper street and an area identified as wetland; he said he has a DEC permit application pending.
DeStefano described the site constraints, noting the lot is narrow and the wetland makes construction on the typical rear yard impractical. “We have a DEC New York State DEC permit application separately that's in process,” he said.
A board member moved to approve application 2664; a second was recorded and the chair called for favor. The transcript records at least one board member saying “Aye.” The applicant thanked the board and said he will not begin construction until he hears back from the state.
Next steps: the applicant should await the New York State DEC decision and follow any conditions in the board’s written decision before starting work.
