Schulman identified himself as Washington County Executive and said he was speaking from Rossman Elementary in the Hartford Joint 1 School District. He said his remarks came both as a former school board member and a parent: “As a former school board president, as the parents of 2 boys who have gone through the schools here in Washington County, thank you.”
Schulman praised teachers and staff “at Rossman and all of our schools,” explicitly including public, private, parochial and voucher schools as well as parents who homeschool. He noted there are “9 school districts, all across Washington County” and said he was “personally so grateful” for educators’ work molding students into “great citizens.”
Schulman closed by reiterating his thanks and offering a blessing for educators’ work: “May God bless your work and, our great community.” He then signed off, saying, “We’ll see you next time at WASHCO Weekly.”
