“My name is Ryan Cunningham. I came here today. I wanted to ask you guys for permission to build my senior project on school grounds,” Cunningham said, presenting a diagram and describing a plexiglass-fronted box roughly 16 inches tall to house multiple games. He told the committee the kiosk would be donation-driven and that he would post notices to solicit community contributions.
Committee members praised the idea for encouraging family engagement and suggested making the box larger; Cunningham said he could explore larger dimensions if materials and design allowed. School staff advised Cunningham to coordinate final specs with the elementary principal and facilities staff before construction.
A motion to approve the project was made and seconded; the committee voted in favor and the chair wished Cunningham luck with the project. Staff and the student will follow up on siting and final specifications prior to installation.
