Monona County agrees to monitor McNeill Main seeding; district to pay for recommended drain tube

Monona County supervisors discussed work on the McNeill Main drainage project during their Feb. 3 meeting and agreed to monitor spring seeding with aerial drone footage.
Chairperson Bo Fox reported he spoke with Eric from ISG about a surface drain that landowner Rob Pekarek requested. The board agreed the drainage district would pay for the ISG‑recommended 80‑foot by 18‑inch tube; Pekarek will cover installation costs and any additional expense if a larger tube is needed. ISG will contact contractor Brandon Albers to coordinate the installation.
The board also directed that drone monitoring take place in the spring to verify the seeding work completed on phase I of the project. The motion approving drainage claims and related trustee actions was recorded during the drainage trustees' session; the claims were filed in the drainage office.
No formal vote to alter the project scope or budget beyond the tube cost allocation was recorded at the meeting. Staff did not report a timeline for drone flights or for when installation would occur.
