West Bend BID board re-elects Peggy Fisher as president; secretary named, vice president vote deferred

The West Bend BID Board on May 5 re-elected Peggy Fisher as president and appointed a new secretary, while deferring the vice president vote to next month.

John (city staff), who summarized the election process, said the board elects a president, vice president and secretary each May under the BID bylaws. Peggy Fisher, who identified herself as the current president, said she was "very comfortable" serving one more year "to finish up projects that we've been working on." A motion to appoint Peggy as president was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.

The vote also filled the secretary role: Christie was nominated and appointed unanimously. Board members discussed vice president Rebecca's absence and agreed to table that election until the next meeting to confirm her interest; a motion to table passed.

The board approved a handful of housekeeping and committee membership changes during the same session. Staff recommended, and the board approved by voice vote, reducing the facade committee from nine members to seven because of recent city staffing changes. Staff said the trimmed membership would include three BID members, two aldermen, the BID executive director and two citizen members; the BID will follow up with named citizen volunteers and check in with an absent member, Tony, before finalizing appointments.

The meeting also included a staff update on the strategic planning committee and an appointment to add an individual named "Fuzz" to the strategic planning committee; the motion to add that person carried.

The board accepted the financial report and moved on to program and project updates. The vice president vote remains on the agenda for the June meeting.
