The Saratoga Springs Planning Commission on March 26 approved the site plan for Hub Lot 5 in the Hub at Saratoga subdivision at 2438 North Stage Coach Drive.
Planner Sam Stout described the proposal as a single lot with two small buildings (about 800 and 850 square feet) intended to house fiber-network equipment; staff said the buildings will not have permanent on-site employees and will be visited periodically for maintenance. Applicant Michael McIntyre introduced himself and said he was available to answer questions but had no additional comments.
When commissioners asked for clarification about the buildings' purpose, staff explained the structures serve as fiber "amplification" huts that regenerate data signals along long fiber runs. Commissioner Wen described the presentation as clean and expressed support. Commissioner Hill moved to forward a recommendation for approval of the site plan with the findings and conditions in the staff report; the motion was seconded and passed by oral vote with no opposition.
The commission recorded no special conditions beyond the findings in staff's report.
