District adopts School Links for college-career planning as state proposes earlier career plans

Administrators told the board the district will adopt School Links as its 7–12 college and career readiness platform and will begin populating student ACT, AP and other test data to help counselors and families plan for college applications.
Amanda Musman and counseling staff said School Links offers integrated student dashboards, virtual college tours and easier access to test scores and transcripts, making it simpler for counselors to advise juniors and families. "It's going to be very accessible for our parents," Musman said, noting counselors appreciated being able to view multiple students' data in a single screenshot.
Staff also discussed a proposed state requirement (pending legislation) that would require students to complete academic and career plans by the end of eighth grade and produce a professional resume by senior year. Bernison administrators said the proposal aligns with career‑exploration inventory work and the district will prepare to integrate such requirements if the law advances.
Administrators said they will demonstrate School Links at an upcoming junior parent meeting and continue to populate historical ACT and FAFSA data to improve the platform's predictive tools for college matchmaking.
