Oak Lawn swears in two probationary firefighter-paramedics

The Village of Oak Lawn on March 10 administered the oath of office to two probationary firefighter-paramedics. The department introduced paramedic Jeremy Janenga (presented by his father) and probationary firefighter-paramedic Brandon Taylor (presented and pinned by his mother); each repeated the oath and received certificates and congratulations from the chief and trustees.
Chief O'Donnell led the oath and emphasized the department’s appreciation. The ceremony included family members at the podium and photos for the press. Trustees congratulated the new hires and wished them well as they begin service to the village.
No personnel actions beyond the swearing-in were taken in open session; the personnel appointments were part of routine departmental onboarding.
