Valley Forge Tourism updates supervisors on America 250 events, membership and marketing

Representatives from the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board presented an America 250 update to Montgomery Township supervisors on March 23, outlining countywide programming, member services and marketing efforts for the 250th anniversary year.
Tessa Robinson (communications specialist) described the board’s mission "to inspire the world to fall in love with Montgomery County," reviewed marketing channels and reach (staff cited more than 300,000 social followers and roughly 3 million annual page views), and previewed a new commercial and content assets to drive visitors into the county beyond Philadelphia.
Asia Kramer, the board’s membership manager, described nearly 600 current business members and benefits including social and print exposure, co-op opportunities, special events (Rev Run April 19, Travel Rally in May, MCO Golf Classic and an October luncheon), and community give-back programming such as the Freedom from Hunger initiative.
Highlighted programs: the 'Houses of Declaration' live readings of the Declaration of Independence are scheduled for July 3–5 with 23 venues secured so far; Valley Forge National Historic Park celebrates 50 years on July 4 with weekend programming; and a statewide "Highways of Heroes" trail will run through the region with a commemorative coin reward for visiting six historic sites.
The board and tourism staff also discussed providing America 250 swag for the Montgomery County Association of Township Officials (PATS) conference and connecting the township with member businesses for donations.
Action: presentation received; staff and tourism representatives will coordinate follow-up on swag, venue participation and connections to local historical societies and parks.
