Ada County delays decision on CAM and property-tax software; review extended to April 7

Ada County commissioners voted March 17 to table a final award recommendation for RFP260001, the county's CAM and property-tax system, after staff said the evaluation team needs additional time to complete detailed reviews of the top three proposals.

The board agreed to retable the item for final rankings and an award recommendation at the April 7, 2026 open business meeting. The motion to table was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.

Why it matters: The procurement will replace an aging, homegrown AS400 platform that county officials said no longer meets contemporary safety and functionality needs and could affect multiple county offices and potentially other jurisdictions.

Treasurer Beth M. thanked the board for granting extra time and described the technical stakes: “we are definitely doing our due diligence. We are looking at the user interface, the functionality, the licenses, and it's been very collaborative working together with the assessor's office, the clerk's office, the treasurer's office, IT and procurement,” she said, adding that the county needs “a scalable solution that will work in the long run for multiple offices.”

A county representative told commissioners initial evaluations and product demonstrations have been completed but the evaluation team is still finalizing scores and rankings for the top candidates. The board set April 7 as the next date for final consideration.

Next steps: Staff will complete detailed evaluations and return to the board on April 7 with rankings and a recommendation for award.
