Commissioners approve budget amendment; finance director reports increased collections

The monthly report noted county revenues at 72% of budget (2 percentage points higher than one year earlier), tax collections of $24.6 million (including $21.8 million current-year collections and $2.7 million prior-year collections) and an increase in operating cash balances of about $1.8 million from the previous month. The finance director also reported departmental expenditure variances and highlighted that enterprise funds and solid-waste funds remain under target percentages.
What happens next
The finance director said internal journal entries will correct departmental salary allocations and that future monthly reports will reflect those adjustments.
