Commissioners appoint two trustees to Ogden Valley Park Service Area

The Weber County Commission approved appointments to the Ogden Valley Park Service Area board at its March 24 meeting.
Stacy Skeem advised the commission that two mid-term vacancies had been posted in accordance with state statute and that seven qualified applications had been received. Commissioners moved to appoint Thomas Kiefer to serve through Dec. 31, 2026 and Tori Torman to serve through Dec. 31, 2028 under Resolution 12-2026.
Commissioners said the appointments reflect state statute changes that will require future Park Service Area positions to be filled by election rather than appointment when districts cross municipal boundaries. A roll-call vote was held and the motion carried.
The appointments take effect immediately under the terms announced. County staff noted that future vacancies for terms expiring after 2026 will be subject to the election process required by state statute.
