All five Santa Cruz Valley schools earn America’s Healthiest Schools recognition; one school wins All‑Star distinction

Presenters noted Mountain View Elementary and others met two of nine criteria, Rio Rico High School met four of nine, Calabasas met six of nine, and one school — identified in the presentation as the only All‑Star school in Arizona — met all nine categories and received the All‑Star distinction. The superintendent and board members thanked principals, teachers, support staff, and community partners including the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and Sodexo for their support.
Board members praised staff efforts and suggested continuing partnerships to expand awards and programming.
