Board approves VDEM right-of-entry for storm debris removal on two county properties

Miss Lewis briefed the board on an email from Joe Costello (VDEM) seeking permission to access 2310 Sandy Creek Road and 2280 Sandy Creek Road — the second address was corrected during the presentation. County staff verified parcel information with the commissioners office prior to the vote.
The board moved and approved the right-of-entry agreements by voice vote. Separately, the board discussed a related USDA Emergency Watershed Protection Program (EWPP) grant item and, because of uncertainty about overlapping work and unknown deadlines, decided to recess and consider that grant on April 7 rather than act immediately.
The action clears the way for VDEM crews to access the stream corridors on the specified county parcels to carry out debris removal work described in their request.
