June Fidel, president of the Larkspur Wrecking Crew, presented a brief history of the nonprofit’s decade of events and partnerships and offered continued fundraising support for city recreation projects. Fidel said the group operates beverage booths at Music in the Park, organized a pumpkin patch and other community events, and has partnered with the library and downtown merchants.
At the meeting Fidel said the organization had grown its board and advisory roster, listed several local volunteers and advisors, and offered to help fundraise for capital projects when city budget constraints make private fundraising an option. At the end of the presentation Fidel presented a $5,000 check to the city to help support park lighting improvements and asked staff for directions on how to deliver the donation.
Council and members of the public thanked the Wrecking Crew for its contributions to community events and for the donation.
