Dr. Ellen announced that Mrs. Langren will retire and praised her long service, saying she has fulfilled multiple roles in support of students and staff and has worked alongside four superintendents. "There is no one I know that always truly has put her entire career about the students of Portage Township schools more than Cindy," Dr. Ellen said, thanking Langren for decades of service.
Trustees added personal thanks and noted Langren's organization, communication and kindness. The board scheduled no formal recognition beyond the remarks at the meeting but discussed inviting the Caspen family back for a dedication when plaques are ready for the athletic complex elsewhere on the agenda.
