The Roy City Planning Commission unanimously approved the site plan March 10 for Custom Solutions, a fabrication and custom‑truck business at approximately 6051 South 1900 West, subject to Development Review Committee conditions including stormwater fixes and screening for outdoor storage.
Applicant Brian Wood described the business as custom welding, fabrication for small parts, laser cutting and specialty truck modification ("Stretch My Truck" and "mega cab" conversions). He said the building will retain an existing west half of storage units and operate the fabrication use in the other portion; the operation will include one vehicle lift.
Staff and engineering review noted that stormwater drainage had been routed into the sewer and must be corrected with an underground retention tank. The north driveway entrance must be closed at the direction of the road authority that controls that segment of 1900 West; staff also noted ADA parking placement constraints due to site slope and required screening for any outdoor storage.
A commission motion to approve the site plan carried unanimously with the standard DRC conditions attached. The applicant was advised to complete stormwater improvements and comply with building‑code requirements for the proposed vehicle lift.
