Hudson DECA students recognized; 12 to attend international conference in Atlanta

Hudson High School DECA students told the school board about a strong season that included district and state placings, community-service projects and gold-certified school-based-enterprise recognition, and announced 12 students will attend the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta.
"We collected over 500 [canned goods]" and "we raised about $810 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association," Jillian White, senior and chapter president, told trustees as she and other officers summarized the chapter's community-service work and competitive results. The students described multiple district placings, state finalists and two projects that earned gold certification.
The board praised the students' growth, leadership and fundraising efforts and wished them well at internationals. Trustees emphasized the value of career-technical student organizations in preparing students for work and leadership roles.
