The St. Bernard Parish School Board handled a package of routine business on March 24, voting to approve minutes, accept a corrected property insurance renewal figure, approve the district's Head Start continuation application and authorize several procurement solicitations.
Clerks and committee chairs moved and seconded a series of minutes approvals in roll-call votes early in the meeting. During consideration of the property insurance renewal, a clerical correction was read into the record: the last three digits of the policy cost were adjusted and recorded as $2,667,719.15 for the April 1, 2026 ' March 31, 2027 coverage period.
The board voted to approve the Head Start continuation application for program year 2026'27, following a committee recommendation. Members also approved a set of procurement actions taken "in globo": solicitations to be advertised for gasoline/diesel/lubricants, painting/body repairs, custodial supplies, liquid waste collection, library books, ELA supplemental workbooks, and a surplus-computer buyback program.
All routine items carried by roll call without extended debate. Board members noted the committee recommendations and administrative packaging of related items for a single vote.
