Taos County approves software renewal and several $5,000 sponsorships; consent agenda passes

At its March 17 meeting, the Taos County Commission approved several procurement and sponsorship items as part of contract and consent-agenda actions.
Planning staff requested renewal of the Granicus short-term rental portal through the OMNIA cooperative procurement vehicle for another year (May 17, 2026 to May 16, 2027). Staff stated the total renewal including tax is $80,111.64 and said the software helps track short-term rentals and compliance; staff also noted an online payment adapter remains incompatible with the treasurer's payment processor and that staff will work with the treasurer to resolve online-payment integration.
Commissioners approved the Granicus renewal unanimously.
The commission also approved two lodgers-tax sponsorship requests, each for $5,000: a sponsorship to bring The Mountain Radio (a nationally syndicated, roots-music road show with ties to KNCE) to Taos over Labor Day weekend, and a Film Prize Jr. transportation/support sponsorship to get Taos County students to the Film Prize Jr. festival in Albuquerque in late March. Commissioners approved both sponsorships after questions about reach and student participation.
Finally, the commission approved the consent agenda (items A through K) by unanimous vote.
Votes recorded at the meeting show each motion passed unanimously; staff will proceed to implement renewals and administer sponsorship disbursements per county procurement and lodging-tax rules.
