Students highlight 'Music Across the District' at Whitman-Hanson meeting

Student representatives from the district music program addressed the Whitman-Hanson school committee to mark Music in Our Schools Month.
Ella Burke, treasurer of the Triumph Music Honor Society, said the district's theme this year was "music across the district" and described projects in which each grade level composed original songs and created music-inspired visual art."
Adam Harden, vice president, summarized instrumental and ensemble opportunities spanning elementary to high school and named staff who lead those programs. Kyla Rando, secretary, listed recent student honors (regional and state ensemble acceptances) and several coming events: the May 1–2 musical, a May 12 instrumental ensemble concert, May 14 rock night, and a May 19 choral concert.
Committee members and community attendees thanked the students and music staff for their work; several members encouraged residents to attend the spring events.
