The Whitman-Hanson Regional School Committee on March 25 voted to approve an interim contract for Dr. Marcus and appointed him as the district representative to the REED collaborative board.
The committee moved and seconded the contract approval after returning from an executive session. The Chair said contract details will be made public for those who wish to review them. Committee members expressed thanks for Dr. Marcus’s work and said they were glad he will be paid for his interim service.
The committee also unanimously approved the annual appointment that names the superintendent as the district’s liaison to the REED collaborative. The Chair explained the appointment is an annual vote to ensure liaison continuity.
In related business, the committee accepted a $1,000 donation from Ryan Kakula in memory of Darien Hall to support the district’s vocational transition program, approved a book surplus request from Bob Davidson’s history department, and moved warrants including food services, Whitman Middle School debt service and accounts payable. All of those motions carried by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
The meeting adjourned after routine scheduling announcements. The committee said the superintendent contract will be posted publicly so residents can review the contract terms.
