Harrison Central Board approves personnel, donations and contracts on consent; trustees hear construction and program updates

The Harrison Central School District Board of Education on March 25 approved routine consent items including the personnel report, administrative donations and finance and facilities contracts.
Personnel and administrative actions: the personnel report was approved on consent and included temporary appointments, extra compensation items, status changes, leaves without pay and a resignation for retirement. The administrative report accepted donations from Samuel J. Preston PTA and Harrison A/B school PTAs and presented a first reading of revised policies in the 5000 series and CSE/CPSE minutes and recommendations.
Finance and facilities: trustees approved a slate of finance and facilities items on consent: disposal of equipment, participation in the Southern Westchester cooperative bidding (BOCES cooperative), a contract with Purchase College for Harrison High School graduation, a boiler-replacement resolution for Parsons Memorial Elementary School, multiple health-services contracts with neighboring districts, the treasurer's report for March 2026 and 2025—6 appropriation transfers; contracts for special-education pass-through funds were also approved.
Construction and program updates: in non-consent remarks administrators reported active site work at Purchase Elementary and preparatory activity at Harrison Avenue School including an upcoming demolition of the existing library and near-completion of bleacher installation at the district's new multi-purpose field. Trustees also recognized student achievements across debate, Italian-language poetry, the Westchester Science and Engineering Fair and other contests; several students advanced to national competitions.
