"These seem to me to be the types of facilities maintenance needs that could not be ignored," the manager said, noting the work had to be addressed even if it was not currently budgeted.

The manager and board said they would double-check remaining funds earmarked for community-room improvements and follow procurement rules; one member noted standard procurement thresholds and competitive-bid expectations for larger purchases.
After discussion, the board moved and approved authorization to proceed with the repairs and to use existing procurement rules and the vendor that maintains the system where appropriate. The manager said he would report back on exact vendor proposals, final costs and the funding source used.
