Facilities staff reported progress on multiple capital projects and the Hilltop asbestos abatement.
The contractor is continuing asbestos removal and will remove window glazing where asbestos was found; temporary plywood will be installed to secure affected openings during remediation. Staff said abatement work remains on schedule, with a planned start of interior window work on March 23.
District staff are finalizing bid packages to solicit demolition cost estimates should the board later choose that direction; if timelines hold, vendor responses should be ready for review in April.
Staff also said summer 2026 projects are being scheduled and noted ongoing community forums and outreach to share bond spending history and project-by-project summaries (recordings posted to the district YouTube page). Questions about multipurpose-room carpeting and the greenhouse location remain under active review.
No action was requested tonight; staff will return with bid results and a refined bond-fund project summary.
