ODOT-led transportation study cleared to move forward; city estimates $200K–$225K cost

Walt said the TSP will concentrate on Yamhill’s priorities—safe streets to schools, Highway 47 through town and localized traffic counts—but that the project team intends to coordinate with Yamhill County and neighboring communities so the study is not developed in isolation. Commissioners welcomed the prospect of consultant data to inform local decision‑making.
No formal decision or allocation was made by the commission; Walt said the procurement steps are underway and that staff continues to press for a formal letter from the state confirming the work order. The commission noted the value of getting reliable traffic and safety data before advancing local design guidelines or capital projects.
