During the April 21 meeting, commissioners opened sealed bids for two surplus county vehicles and resolved to accept a bid for the Ford Edge while postponing sale of a 1997 F‑250 because of mechanical concerns.
The county announced the 1997 F‑250 had mechanical issues discovered the previous day, so the advertised bid process for that truck was canceled and will be re‑advertised. The board opened two sealed bids for the 2013/2014 Ford Edge; one bid listed Doug Roberts (Foresight, Montana) at $3,001 and another sealed bid of $3,500 from an absent bidder. After discussion the commissioners accepted a $3,501 offer from Doug Roberts and declared him the winning bidder. A county staff member noted the payment is due by the end of the day.
Next steps: the county will complete title transfer and acceptance paperwork once payment is received.
