Grantsville City officials on Feb. 18 heard a presentation of the fiscal year 2025 audit from Ron Stewart of Gilbert and Stewart CPAs. Stewart told the council the auditors issued an unqualified, or clean, opinion on the city’s financial statements and identified no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in internal control.
The auditors reported general compliance with state requirements but noted one finding: the Redevelopment Agency (RDA) fund had exceeded its approved budget. Stewart recommended that the City monitor budgets more closely and adopt amendments when necessary to maintain compliance and transparency. Mayor Hammond thanked the audit team and praised the city’s finance staff for their work.
