Students and sponsor request funding for national competition; PVA urges board to take compensating tax rate

Later in the public-comment period, Jada Brady, identified herself as the Clark County PVA, invited board members and residents to property reassessment open-book sessions May 4–18 and urged the board to adopt only the compensating tax rate for 2026. Brady said the sheriff collected 97.68% of 2025 property taxes and that the median home price in ZIP 40391 rose about 4.3% to $261,000.
"I encourage you to take only the compensating tax rate," Brady said, framing the approach as a way to maintain stability for taxpayers while relying on growth and new construction revenue.
The board did not make immediate allocations for Educators Rising at the meeting; no formal board action was recorded on funding requests during public comment.
