The Clark County Board of Education cleared a series of routine but substantive business items in unanimous votes during a special-call meeting.
Key actions included approval of a modified 2025–26 school calendar and setting GRC’s graduation for May 22, 2026 at 7 p.m.; acceptance of the sale of the district EBS license (call sign WLX94); awarding student accident insurance for 2026–27 after staff reported AIG offered a lower price with the same claim processor; and a three-year renewal of the district’s athletic trainer contract with the University of Kucky’s healthcare, which carries a roughly $25,000 price increase while retaining two certified full-time athletic trainers.
The board also approved the 2026–27 and 2027–28 calendars for early-learning programs (the Nest and preschool schedules), renewed banking and audit services, and adopted updated Chapter 3 HR policies that had not been refreshed in decades.
On academics, the board approved an update to the district’s alternative credit options policy: the board added temporary verbiage to ensure the class of 2026 has all dual-credit hours reflected on transcripts now and will bring back language to remove the historic cap after that class graduates.
Each item was moved and seconded on the record and passed by board voice vote (most recorded as 4–0 or 5–0 depending on item). A full consent agenda was approved near the meeting’s close.
