Board upholds expulsion of a secondary student after appeal hearing

The Livonia Public Schools Board voted to expel one secondary student following an appeal hearing and consideration of the hearing officer’s recommendation.
The action was presented to the board with supporting documentation from the hearing. Trustees stated they had the information required to make a decision and, after deliberation, approved the hearing officer’s recommended expulsion for the period described (through the entirety of the first semester of the next school year). The motion (mover: Mrs. Bradford; second: Mr. McFarland) passed by unanimous roll call.
