Columbia City Council approved a series of ordinances, resolutions and appointments during the meeting, including a lease amendment, consent to a multi-county industrial park, event alcohol permits and multiple board appointments.
The council approved ordinance 2026017 authorizing the city manager to execute an 11th amendment to a lease with Old Boy Properties LLC and ordinance 2026022 consenting to inclusion of property in a multi-county industrial business park. Staff described item 16 as endorsed by the Economic Development and Infrastructure Committee.
Council also approved a public-hearing resolution for the proposed Vista Business Improvement District and event resolutions authorizing the consumption of beer and wine at Juneteenth Freedom Fest (Finley Park) and at a 5K remembrance event on Lincoln Street.
Appointments confirmed included two nominees to the Central Midlands Council of Governments board of directors (three-year terms), two appointees to the City Center Partnership board and five seats on the Columbia Appearance Commission (reappointments and new appointments). The clerk recorded roll-call votes for each item.
All items were moved and approved by roll call during the meeting.
Next steps: Items that require additional public hearings or administrative steps (the Vista BID improvement-plan hearing, for example) will proceed to the dates noted by staff; the confirmed appointees begin their terms as stated.
