Miss Hamlin presented the adoption recommendation and told the board the district negotiated teacher materials delivery ahead of summer. "McGraw Hill claims 10 to 14 days after receipt of the PO," she said, adding that the division emphasized getting teacher materials in hand before teachers leave for summer.
Board members asked about recurring consumable costs and whether materials become the property of the student if a student transfers mid‑year; Hamlin said the five‑year contract covers the consumables and the division will hold a small grade‑level overage for replacement needs, noting that consumables typically contain student work and are not routinely reissued.
A board member moved to approve the ELA textbook adoption, the motion was seconded and the board approved by voice vote.
The adoption is scheduled for FY27 purchasing; staff will return with purchase orders and shipment timing aligned to the contract and budget calendar.
