At the March 23 board meeting the Spring‑Ford Area School District recognized students named National Merit finalists and commended winter-sports teams for district and state accomplishments.
Mr. Jones, the 12th‑grade house principal, said 11 students who had been named semi‑finalists were advanced to finalist status; finalists were selected from preliminary SAT results and are among roughly 15,000 high‑school seniors nationally. Mr. Jones noted the district was notified that at least one student had already received a scholarship and said families would be notified as scholarship awards are announced over time.
Athletic director Mr. Muscavage and coaches recognized winter teams for a successful season: the boys wrestling team produced pack champions and a state qualifier; the boys swimming and diving team compiled a 9‑1 record, produced multiple school records and state finalists (including junior Justin Delp, who earned all‑state honors), and the boys basketball team won the pack championship. The board applauded the athletes and coaches.
The board praised the students’ achievements and encouraged families and the community to celebrate the honorees; no formal action was required.
