Ross Local board approves superintendent’s personnel recommendations, including two principal hires

The Ross Local School District board unanimously approved Superintendent Dr. Rice’s personnel recommendations, including two recommended administrative hires, during the regular board meeting.
Dr. Rice asked trustees to approve several personnel items and introduced the two recommended leaders. "I'm recommending Gina Cooper for the assistant principal position at Ross Middle School for the next school year," he said, and described Cooper's prior roles, including recent work as an assistant principal in a freshman building and earlier experience as a behavioral coach and special education teacher. Dr. Rice also recommended Gina Sansone for principal at Morgan Elementary, noting her recent work as a principal at Reading Elementary School and prior experience at Houston Early Learning Center in Northwest Local School District.
The board moved and seconded the recommendation; a roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes from Mr. Gunther, Mr. Beckman, Mrs. Webb, Mr. Carinick and Mr. Young. The board also welcomed the two administrators at the meeting.
The approval covered personnel listings (employment, resignations/retirements, supplements and stipends) that were included in the superintendent’s report and requires standard onboarding and transition work with building leadership. No vote tallies showed opposition or abstentions.
