The Daytona Beach Community Redevelopment Agency approved a set of routine and procedural motions during its April 1 meeting, all by unanimous vote.
Key actions recorded during the session: Commissioner Reed moved, with a second by Commissioner May, to excuse Mayor Derrick L. Henry from the CRA meeting; that motion passed 6-0. Commissioners approved moving two presentation items (the Water Conservation Month proclamation and Drop Savers poster awards) from the City Commission agenda into the CRA meeting (motion by Commissioner Paris, second Commissioner Cantu; passed 6-0). The body approved the minutes of the January 21, 2026 meeting (motion by Commissioner May, second Commissioner Cantu; passed 6-0) and adopted the CRA agenda as presented (motion by Commissioner Reed, second Commissioner May; passed 6-0).
During the Main Street discussion commissioners voted to permit four business representatives to speak and then, following city‑attorney guidance on viewpoint‑neutral time limits, set a combined public-comment allotment of 15 minutes (three minutes per speaker); the amended motion (Commissioner Cantu, amended second Commissioner May) carried 6-0. Staff and consultants will follow up with merchant meetings and return to the CRA with design priorities, cost estimates and a proposed phasing plan.
The CRA did not take any formal construction or budget votes on the Main Street project at this meeting; design and cost authorization remain forthcoming.
