Oxford district warns stadium turf work may push into fall, seeks alternate sites for games

“We foresee a strong likelihood that we will not be starting our fall season in the stadium,” an administrator said during the athletics committee report, and staff said they are examining contingency plans for home games and phasing options for comfort facilities and a fieldhouse. The construction schedule depends on required reviews with the Chester County Conservation District and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the facilities committee reported.
Board members asked how the delay affects field‑maintenance contracts and game scheduling. Staff said the district will continue to enforce parking expectations, adjust contracts as fields are taken in and out of maintenance schedules, and finalize temporary hosting sites for home contests as needed. No formal change to the project scope or budget was approved at the meeting; staff said permitting must be completed before construction can proceed on the timetable originally anticipated.
The committee will continue to track permitting milestones and provide updates to athletic staff and families as contingency plans are refined.
