Planned Patmos solar project on hold in Hampstead pending bog turtle survey

HAMPSTEAD — A planned solar facility on the Patmos property is on hold after the developer’s representatives said an ecological survey could alter the project’s design.
The town manager said the developer’s consultant, Hall and Bower, informed the town that they plan to conduct a Phase 2 bog turtle survey during an April–June window and requested that the town wait to schedule a meeting until the survey results are complete. "They'd like to wait on scheduling a meeting until they have the results because after that study plans may change," the town manager said.
Melissa Hall, identified in the meeting as with Hall and Bower, was named as the contact who communicated the developer’s intent to delay the design meeting.
Town officials said they expect to hear more about the project in late July or August after the survey conclusions become available. No new project approvals or hearings were scheduled at the meeting and no formal action was taken.
