During the finance report, the board was told the county’s general fund balance stood at roughly $313.5 million, a figure the speaker contrasted with a prior amount “a couple of months ago” of about $10 million. The animal patrol fund was reported at $251,000. The speaker also noted the city of Danville’s recent payment to animal control was $34,000 compared with an earlier payment of $100,000 a year ago.
