Councilors asked practical questions about plaque duration, whether lower‑cost recognition options would exist for broader community participation, and how donated funds would be received and administered. Schweigert said donations would flow through the city’s foundation mechanism and the council can later direct how those funds are applied (reimburse CIP costs, fund enhancements, or replenish reserves).
Council approved the resolution and authorized the $40,000 appropriation from the capital improvement fund.
