Peninsula Clean Energy asks Belmont to approve JPA amendment after decade of partnership

She said the PCE board recently approved a recommended new name, West Light Energy, to reduce confusion with PG&E and reflect the agency’s service territory beyond the peninsula; the council was asked to approve a JPA amendment on the consent calendar to formalize the change locally.
Councilmember Tom McCune, the city’s representative on the PCE board, acknowledged he had opposed the name change at the board level but supported the agency’s overall work, noting its role in lowering generation costs compared with PG&E. The council placed the JPA amendment on the consent calendar for approval as Item 9d.
