Jackson Town Council on May 4 authorized a revised funding agreement with Center Management Inc. (CMI) and awarded the construction contract for the Snow King Sports and Event Center bleacher and locker-room project to Shaw Construction.
Town Manager Tyler Sinclair summarized a funding update: the town’s prior commitment of $1.2 million would be adjusted to $1,175,000, and CMI’s contribution would be amended to $325,000. The revised CMI payment schedule approved by council is $100,000 by May 8, 2026; $100,000 by Aug. 1, 2026; and $125,000 by Oct. 15, 2026. CMI representative Mac Monroe said the organization had already contributed $118,000 and faced some pledge withdrawals but remained committed.
Councilors expressed disappointment that earlier fundraising projections referenced in staff materials had stated $350,000; Councilor Schechter said he was "disappointed" CMI did not meet that figure but supported moving forward. Monroe responded that CMI had pledges coming later in the fall and that CMI was already invested in the project. "We're actually covering 27% of this project as the tenant of the building," Monroe said, noting prior contributions.
The council also approved awarding the construction contract to Shaw Construction as the lowest responsible bidder for a contract amount of $1,405,142; project contingency and professional-services costs bring total project funding to $1,500,000. Both the funding-agreement amendment and the contract award passed unanimously.
