Millis approves $48.2 million FY2027 budget with unanimous vote

The Town of Millis voted unanimously to adopt a $48,200,058.03 operating budget for fiscal year 2027, which Finance Committee Chair John Lohr presented as balanced and necessary to cover town services beginning July 1.
“These are the town revenues and transfers that are calculated for each fiscal year for the town of Millis,” John Lohr said while presenting the committee’s report and a 9–0 recommendation. The budget reflects a 3.5% increase from the current year and accommodates rising employee benefits and school costs.
Lohr listed several revenue and transfer sources that fund the plan, including taxation, an ambulance fund allocation and various enterprise transfers. He noted that host community agreement funds that have helped cover services in prior years will be exhausted after FY27, meaning some services may need to be absorbed into recurring budgets going forward.
With no questions from the floor, Moderator Bruce Kenaragi called for the voice vote; the article passed unanimously.
