Mount Orab council schedules special meeting to hear public concerns about megasite

One council member said legal counsel had advised that NDAs sometimes govern early negotiations but that staff would attempt to provide as much information as allowed.
Residents asked the council to consider Southern State's auditorium (capacity cited at about 400) or similar school or public venues so more people can attend in person; speakers also urged the council to livestream future meetings and publish ordinances and minutes online. Council members said they would follow up on venue availability and work with the community to plan the public forum.
The special meeting is intended to separate routine council business from a public forum focused on transparency, environmental concerns, and zoning and annexation records. The council did not take final land‑use action at the special meeting call but said the meeting will be open under the Sunshine Law and will include an opportunity for extended public comment.
