Town announces executed Northpointe workforce-housing agreement and schedules neighborhood cleanup

Quincy White, the town’s chief housing officer, told the task force the Northpointe workforce-housing development agreement has been fully executed and will deliver "roughly 150 to 170 workforce housing units" intended for local workers.

White described recent community engagement events — one in Jonesville with about 114 residents and one in Muddy Creek with about 82 attendees — and said staff are using those conversations to shape a neighborhood-stabilization plan that will include a stakeholder group.

White announced a community cleanup scheduled for Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the town-owned property at 30 Bryant Road. The cleanup will include a street sweep, a mobile recycling center, and small debris pickup, with a larger debris pickup planned for January. White invited the task force and community partners to staff an informational tent at the event to share resources and connect residents with town programs.

On Northpointe, White described the development as an exclusively workforce-housing project with 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units geared to local needs; he did not give a firm groundbreaking or completion timetable and said staff will provide specific schedule details when available. He emphasized outreach to neighborhood institutions and churches and said staff planned robust mailer and door-knocking outreach so residents would know about the cleanup logistics and timing.

The task force did not take a formal vote related to the Northpointe agreement at this meeting; White said staff will continue engaging residents, coordinate cleanup logistics, and report back with schedule details for the Northpointe construction timeline when available.
