Mid State reported strong graduate outcomes in its six-month follow-up survey, saying 97% of recent graduates were employed and 91% were working in a field related to their training.
Doctor Mandy (speaker S9) presented results for graduates from December 2024 and May 2025, reporting a 71% survey response rate, 98% student satisfaction and 84% of graduates employed within the college’s district — figures the college highlighted when talking with legislators about retention and workforce impact.
"We are number 1 in employment at 97%," Doctor Mandy said, adding that Mid State also led in related-field employment at 91% and ranked high in response rate and placement compared with the statewide technical college system. Board members asked whether the survey tracks graduates who leave the state; Mandy said the system can pull additional longer-term information but that the six-month follow-up does not fully capture all later career movements.
Board members also asked about the 29% of graduates who did not respond. Mandy said the system office may be able to pull supplementary information later in career records used for external awards submissions but that six-month nonresponse remains a gap the college would like to reduce.
The board received the report as an informational item and discussed how the results support program alignment and local workforce development.
