HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ' The Huntsville City Board of Education took two formal actions Dec. 2:
1) Human-resources report: The superintendent recommended approval of the human-resources report. The motion was moved, seconded and passed by recorded affirmation; the chair cast a confirming vote.
2) SSUT litigation participation: The board authorized counsel to take actions necessary for the board to appear as an interested party in City of Tuscaloosa v. Vernon Burnett (the SSUT challenge). The motion was moved, seconded and carried by recorded affirmative responses and the chair's confirming vote. Staff said participation would be at a reasonable expense to the board and that further financial detail would be provided later.
Recorded vote tallies in the transcript show affirmative responses from a board member and the chair in both items; the transcript does not record a full roll call of every member for either vote.
