King William board recognizes student art winners; Junior Beta seeks funds to attend nationals

Miss Atkins presented the Junior Beta Club report and invited students to speak. Student Silus Hinesman described the club's fundraising—donut sales and themed events—that raised more than $4,500 and allowed participation at the state convention; four members qualified for nationals. Hinesman said attending nationals would "allow our club to represent the school's academic performance on a national level" and requested board support for travel and registration costs.
Board members congratulated students and encouraged continued fundraising. The board did not commit district funding at the meeting but acknowledged the club's achievements.
