The San Felipe-Del Rio CISD board on March 30 approved its consent agenda, updated employee job descriptions, and authorized personnel actions after a closed executive session.
The consent agenda — which included minutes from the Feb. 23 meeting, financial statements, purchases and donations — was approved by voice vote after a motion from Mr. Galinda and a second from Mr. Orfeld.
In human resources business, Amy Childress presented updated job descriptions and evaluation forms for principal, assistant principal and the bilingual/ESL curriculum coordinator. Trustees asked clarifying questions about the assistant principal role and whether discipline responsibilities would change; Childress and administration said discipline processes remain handled at the campus level and that the updates reflect current duties and evaluation expectations. The board approved the job-description updates.
The board entered executive session under Texas Government Code Chapter 551 and reconvened at about 8:01 p.m. After returning to open session the board approved personnel recommendations discussed in closed session. Amy Childress presented the list of new hires and personnel actions; approved hires included Desiree Jeff (English teacher at San Felipe Memorial Middle School), a special-education co-teacher and Fabola Montoya for speech-language pathology assistant at Irene Cardwell Elementary. The board also approved administrator and professional contracts as presented.
The board adjourned following brief announcements.
